Pizza 4P’s is carrying out environmentally-conscious projects step by step in order to achieve the vision “Make the World Smile for Peace”. It started its sustainable journeys from sourcing ingredients locally and sustainability, and quickly expanded to other aspects including cage-free eggs transition, jar returns program, development of zero-waste stores.
Apart from the dine-in and delivery business, pizza 4Ps distributes a wide range of retail products to restaurants, gourmet stores and directly to the consumer. Those products include house-made cheese from their factory in Lam Dong and frozen pizza and pasta. The packaging for these products has to meet food safety standards and ensure high quality over a long shelf-life for customers, therefore, plastic material has been used for production. Unfortunately, these materials are not compostable and recyclable effectively in Vietnam.
Pizza 4Ps is looking for and testing alternative materials that have less impact such as home-compostable bioplastic, seaweed packaging, and natural leaves. However, these options require additional advancement and commercialization to become feasible in the Vietnam market.
ACHIEVING PLASTIC-FREE COASTLINES WITH PIZZA 4Ps PLASTIC NEUTRAL PRODUCTS
Pizza 4Ps decided to work with TONTOTON to reduce the impact of plastic from their current packaging. Together, we track the plastic packaging they use in their retail products. Meanwhile, TONTOTON rescues and recycles an equal weight of post-consumer, non-recyclable ocean-bound plastic on their behalf.
TONTOTON empowers the local communities by providing ethical, safe and sustainable earnings to the local waste pickers and the communities. These non-recyclable plastics are rescued from the coastlines of Phu Quoc Island and Hon Son Island, and used as an alternative fuel at a cement manufacturing factory which replaces the fossil fuel usage.
CONNECTING CUSTOMERS TO THE IMPACT
TONTOTON employs a stringent verification process based on the Ocean Bound Plastic Neutrality Standard to ensure the operations meet these certified standards. In addition, Pizza 4Ps customers can connect to the impact story simply by buying their plastic neutral products and scanning the QR code to discover the impact and relevant story on the ground.
PURPOSE WRAPPED IN PACKAGE
Pizza 4Ps believe this is a step in the right direction to reduce the impact of plastic waste. However, this comes with acknowledgement that going plastic neutral would not simply solve the plastic problem. It’s only an added action to their many sustainability activities.
They are actively working on finding better packaging and production technology that has as little impact on the environment as possible without compromising the quality.

Pizza 4P’s is carrying out environmentally-conscious projects step by step in order to achieve the vision “Make the World Smile for Peace”. This journey began with sourcing our ingredients locally and sustainability, and has grown into other aspects, including whey upcycling, cage-free eggs transition, jar returns program, food rescue program, old uniform recycling, and development of zero-waste stores.
As we expand beyond dine-in and delivery, we now bring our house-made cheeses from Lam Dong, along with frozen pizzas and pasta, to restaurants, retail partners, and directly to customers. Ensuring food safety and product quality over a longer shelf life means packaging plays a critical role — and today, plastic remains the most viable option. However, we recognize its environmental impact, especially as recycling systems in Vietnam are still limited.
Pizza 4P’s decided to work with TONTOTON to reduce the impact of plastic from our current packaging.
