TONTOTON is a global leader in sustainable plastic waste management, certified under both the Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) Neutrality Standard and the Social+ OBP Standard. This dual certification ensures the ethical treatment and well-being of waste pickers and their families, providing access to essential services, housing improvements for homes with children, and connections to social services and childcare NGOs.
Our operations, monitored by Control Union, guarantee the responsible collection, logistics, and management of OBP, verified through a rigorous certification process to prevent double-counting. In Sihanoukville, Cambodia, our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) transforms low-grade and non-recyclable plastics into valuable products. Through recycling, upcycling, and our circular economy initiatives, we work with and for the community to create lasting positive impact.

ZPO develops certification standards specifically: The OBP Certification Programs including, the OBP Neutrality Subprogram.

Certified under OBP Neutralization Program, ensuring proper collection and solution of mismanaged Ocean-Bound Plastic.

Approved by ZPO, Control Union acts as a 3rd Party Certification Body to perform certification audit and verify plastic credits.

Certified organization collects OBP waste through its own team or independent collectors.

Collected OBP waste is correctly managed and treated by approved treatment site.

The organization submits collection and treatment reports and evidence to verification control body.

Control body checks and verifies reports and confirm certified plastic credits to ZPO.

Plastic credits issued and registered under project name on OBP registry website.

Traded credits will be retired under the final beneficiary’s name, ensuring no double-use of credits.
Participating businesses, supported by TONTOTON, can define their neutralization plan to compensate for their plastic consumption. Therefore, the agreed amount of ocean-bound plastic will be collected on their behalf.
Engaged businesses will be rewarded with an international certificate to attest their support in the fight for ocean plastic pollution. Moreover, corporations can claim plastic neutrality on the amount of plastic rescued and indicate in on their products by bearing the “Plastic Neutral Product” label.
